Why most first home buyers stay stuck
I hear the same stories every day. Different names, different suburbs, but the same three traps.
Rates move. Prices move. Government schemes change. One headline says buy now, the next says wait for a crash. Your friends, your parents and the internet all disagree. So you do the one thing that feels safe, which is doing nothing, and another year of rent goes out the door.
This is likely the biggest purchase of your life, and you know it. Pay too much, miss a defect with the home, buy in the wrong street: one wrong move can stay with you for decades, so the fear keeps you frozen.
You work hard and you've saved. Many of the people I speak with are closer to buying than they realise, but no one has ever laid out the steps, so they assume they can't. In our first conversation, most of my clients told me they didn't think they could do it. Most of them now have the keys.
Most first home buyers are caught in all three.
The Right Path Buyers Agency pathway
Meet Bef
Bef here. I know what it's like to work hard and still wonder if owning a home is possible.
When I bought my first home, I overpaid and was rushed into signing something I didn't fully understand.
Over the last 5 years, I've been helping first home buyers make the right move and navigate their journey to homeownership.
I founded Right Path Buyers Agency to help hardworking families own their first home without overpaying or feeling overwhelmed.
You'll be guided on the right path from start to finish, avoid making costly mistakes and never feel rushed into a decision. Today, I'm helping most of my clients get their keys in under 2 months.
I sit on your side of the table. I'll tell you when you're ready, when to walk away, and when a property isn't worth your money, even when you love it.
Because I'm not here to sell you a house. I'm here to help you buy the right one.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, especially if you haven't had your circumstances assessed. Tell us what's making you unsure. We'll discuss the buying process and identify which questions need checking with a mortgage broker or lender. They assess borrowing eligibility. You can start getting answers before you know whether buying now is possible.
You don't need to know whether your savings are enough before contacting us. A broker or lender needs to consider your deposit alongside your income, commitments and other circumstances. We can discuss the property buying steps while you investigate your financial position.
No. You can book while you're exploring your options, even if you haven't spoken with a broker or lender. Your borrowing position needs to be established so an active property search and any offers work within an appropriate budget.
A buyer's agent represents your interests in the property purchase. Depending on the agreed service, we define your buying brief, search for suitable homes, assess your options, plan your offer, negotiate with the selling agent and support you through to settlement. Your written agreement sets out exactly what's included.
Yes. The 30 to 40 minute Information Session with Bef is free, with no obligation to engage Right Path Buyers Agency. It's an opportunity to discuss your situation, ask questions and understand your next steps.
No. You're requesting a conversation with Bef. Submitting the questions, booking or attending the free session does not commit you to our paid service. You can ask questions and decide afterwards. Any engagement is covered by a separate written agreement.
Our buyers agency service is paid. We explain the fee, what's included and the payment terms after your free Information Session, before you decide to engage us, and provide these details in writing. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and understand the terms before proceeding.
The session can help you understand what needs attention before an active search makes sense. We'll discuss your timing and the next steps to investigate. If our service isn't appropriate at this stage, we'll tell you.
Most of our clients get their keys within 7 to 12 weeks of being ready to proceed. While we can't guarantee this timeframe, your finance, buying brief, available properties, contract conditions and settlement terms all affect the timeline. We'll work towards a realistic timeframe for your situation and keep you informed at every stage.
Tell us straight away, including any offer deadline or commitment you've already made. We'll explain whether we can help and what can realistically be done within the time available. If you've already signed a contract, let us know before your session.
Yes. Tell us who you're working with and we'll coordinate with them. Right Path handles the agreed buyers agency work, your broker or lender handles finance, and your settlement agent handles settlement.
You'll be taken to a booking page where you can choose a time for your free Information Session with Bef. We'll discuss your situation, the questions holding you back and whether Right Path can help you move forward.
